Remove provisions that would reverse bans on animal tested cosmetics

I was very disturbed to learn that a provision (Sec. 614) has been added to the Food and Drug Administration Safety and Landmark Advancements Act (S. 4348) that would invalidate the authority of states to ban the sale of cosmetics tested on animals. At least seven states currently have such laws and Sec 614 of S. 4348 would override those laws while also prohibiting future bans from being enacted.

As your constituent I urge you to oppose Sec 614 of S. 4348 to protect these current and potentially future state laws to ban the sale of animal tested cosmetics.

Testing cosmetics on animals is cruel and archaic. Companies have a wealth of modern methods to ensure the safety of cosmetic products without resorting to outdated and inhumane animal tests.
