The amendment made the bill worse. The bill now uses TSSAA to force private schools into situations where they have to discriminate against transgender athletes. What precedent does this set for using TSSAA to regulate private schools in other ways? This is government overreach and the bill sends a terrible message to all transgender students regardless of whether they are involved in sports.

I am tired of all the bills focused on stigmatizing transgender youth. The Legislature ought to be working on ways to make sure all students in our state succeed.
