Please, vote NO on SB771/HB888 when it comes before your committee this week. Local school districts have not requested this bill. This legislation stigmatizes students and exposes them to more bullying and danger at school.
And even if there were no direct expense to the state in the form of withholding of federal education funds, which is a real concern, the bill would paint a target on Tennessee for economic and tourism boycotts. We cannot afford this bill, based on the human and financial costs.
