CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION

The pandemic stretched family budgets and made it difficult for many to buy basic needs. But even as COVID-19 infection levels drop, the number of families who depend on food banks and pantries remains high. LB1014 (originally LB1201) would allocate a portion of Nebraska's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to the organizations who provide our fellow Nebraskans with nutritious food.

TALKING POINTS
  • Hunger impacts physical and mental health, school or work performance, and increases the risk of chronic diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes.
  • Food banks and pantries continue to see high numbers of families in need of assistance.
  • Keeping all Nebraskans fed will strengthen our communities and ensure we are all living The Good Life!
