Vote NO on HB888

Please, vote NO on HB888 when it comes before you on March 7 in the House Education Administration and Planning Subcommittee.

The bill is harmful to students, exposing them to more bullying and harassment.

Wilson County Director of Schools Donna Wright recently noted in an article in The Lebanon Democrat: “It’s not an issue for us. We take care of our kids,” said Wright, who said the district is sensitive to student needs, as well as parent and guardian concerns.

As well as harming students and disrupting the work of local school districts, this bill risks turning Tennessee into the next North Carolina with the loss of millions of dollars in tourism and economic development.

Forbes magazine pointed out in November 3, 2016 article that the loss to North Carolina was at least $600 Million.  Tennessee cannot afford that kind of impact.

Thank you for considering my views.
